How to Fish in Fur Infection Outbreak
The v1.5x rod, cave shafts, and the swords fishing will not give you.
Fishing in Fur Infection Outbreak is a side loop HopeStar Studio dropped on the live 35-player servers in late May 2026. It is not a second win condition. Humans still loot melee and peel grabs. Transfurs still press 2, take a back, and drag to latex. The Safe Zone still kills Infected. This page is only place 120550559221143. Do not import C4, Insurgents, or MTF from Furry Infection Outbreak.
The video on this page is Bom Only’s New Update: Fishing System recap. It shows the rod, a handful of fish, a cave shaft, and the infected-side kill effect shop in spawn. Use it as a visual of the UI, not as a promise that every fish still sits in the same hole after Overhaul. New accounts should finish the beginner walkthrough before they park on a pier. Room names sit on the map guide. Coin sinks sit on the Furcoins tracker.
What fishing actually is
You find a water tile, equip the rod, and wait. The minigame is closer to Roblox’s usual bite-and-reel than to a combat ability. While the line is out you are a standing target. A Transfur who walks your spine does not care that you almost had a rare fish. Right-click still swings only after you put the rod away. The yellow melee bar does not fill while you fish, because you are not swinging.
Fishing pays curiosity and a trickle of Furcoins or junk items. It does not replace infection farming. Community comments under the fishing recap treat the loop like a gamble: you sit, you pull, you get a fish, you go back to a bat. If a pack is hunting the cave mouth, drop the rod. A conversion costs more than a bronze fish is worth.
Where people actually fish
The recap shows water in the enlarged cave and a shaft that dropped in around the same patch. Outdoor event water from summer weeks is not a guaranteed second pier. When the desert wing is loaded, treat any extra water as seasonal. When it is not, the cave is the room you walk. The v1.48 restyle plus the v1.51 volume pass is the same cave the mining guide uses for ore. Do not stand on a node and a fishing tile at once expecting both to pay. Pick one, watch your back, then leave.
Infected cannot fish in the Human Safe Zone. They die on that tile. The recap’s last chapter is a kill effect shop for Infected that sits in their safe area, not in Human spawn. If you convert mid-cast, you lose the rod animation and you now follow grab rules. Press 2. Do not try to finish the fish.
Heavy Sword and Corrupted Sword are not fish drops
The same video chapter-marks Heavysword and Corrupted Sword next to the fishing UI. That is a showcase of unobtainable steel, not a loot table. Community notes that still match HopeStar’s later comments:
- Heavy Sword is treated as an admin / staff weapon. A V2-era route (killing a named target, cap of about 25 owners) is closed. Players who ask in-game and get “too heavy” are hitting that lock, not a fishing miss.
- Corrupted Sword came from the 2025 Halloween window. If you already own it, you keep it. If you do not, fishing will not print a replacement. A later HopeStar clip asked whether Corrupted would return; that is a maybe, not a rod drop.
If a Discord screenshot says “fish the heavy,” it is a joke or a different game. Real blades you can still scavenge or buy are on weapon locations and ranked on the weapon tier list. Easter carrot tools are event leftovers, covered in the boss fight guide.
How to fish without feeding a pack
- Enter as a Human with a bat already in hand. Do not walk to water empty.
- Clear the room. If a purple name is on the shaft lip, skip the cast.
- Cast, watch the bite, reel. Do not camera-lock so hard you miss a grab wind-up behind you.
- Pocket the fish, re-equip melee, leave. Repeat only if the cave is quiet.
- If you convert, abandon the pier. Grab rules are on how to infect.
Run is still Ctrl (L3 on a pad). The rod does not sprint for you. Binds are unchanged on the controls page.
What fishing is for
Side currency, a reason to learn cave water, and a break between fights. It is not a title farm. The infection title around 5,000 conversions still comes from grabs, not from trout. There are still no confirmed active promo codes as of September 2026, so a fish will not substitute for a gift string on codes. Kill effects you see in the infected shop are cosmetics; they do not make the rod safer.
If Overhaul moved the water, believe the live floor and check patch notes. If a blackout is running, lights-out cave fishing is a trap — walk the blackout event rules first. Cast when the room is empty. Reel when the bar says so. Put the bat back in your hand before you walk the shaft.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Humans, Transfurs, and anyone hunting Furcoins.
Does fishing drop the Heavy Sword?
No. Heavy Sword is treated as staff-locked after V2. Fishing is a side loop. Real blades are on the weapons guide.
Can Infected fish in the Human Safe Zone?
No. That tile kills Transfurs. Infected have their own safe area and a kill effect shop, not a Human pier.
Where do I fish after Overhaul?
Start in the enlarged cave water and shaft shown in the v1.5x recap. Confirm the live floor. Rooms are on the map guide.
Is fishing a better Furcoin farm than infecting?
No. Infection kills still pay more. Read the Furcoins guide if you are choosing a farm.
Will a code give me a rod or a Corrupted Sword?
There are no confirmed active codes as of September 2026. Corrupted Sword is a Halloween leftover, not a redeem. Check codes.
Should I fish during a blackout?
Usually no. Lights-out cave is grab weather. Rules are on the blackout page.
