Fur Infection Outbreak How to Infect Humans
The grab combo, puddle finish, and pack tactics that snowball a server.
Infecting in Fur Infection Outbreak is a grab job, not a melee duel. HopeStar Studio’s live 35-player servers pit purple-named Transfurs (also called Infectants) against blue-named Humans. You do not shoot, and you do not swing a bat. You press 2, take someone’s back, right-click, and drag them into latex. The Safe Zone is not a nest. It is a kill tile. Walk in as purple and you die. This page is the Transfur ruleset. Form rankings live on the infected rankings. Role identity, puddle skins, and pack habits live on the Transfur roster.
If you are still Human, stay on how to play as a Human until you convert. First conversion in a new account is covered in the beginner walkthrough.
The grab combo
Press 2 to ready Grab. Move to the Human’s back. Right-click. That is the whole combo. Front grabs fail more often because the hitbox is stingy from the chest and generous from the spine. Do not mash 2 during the animation; the tool is already out. If nothing happens, you are on the wrong hotbar slot, you are too far, or you are looking at a Human who still has exit iFrames.
After the grab sticks, you can walk. Drag toward a latex puddle, not toward a portal. Puddles finish conversions faster than a hallway stall, and they hide the victim from peelers. If blue names are already swinging, break off rather than dying on a half-drag. A dead Transfur is one less body in the next pack.
Jump-casting is the same combo with a hop. Jump a bat swing, land behind, right-click. It is not a different ability. Players who treat it as a special move forget to press 2 first and then wonder why they only bump the Human.
Rear positioning and when to wait
Doors, cafeteria tables, and cave chokes are rear-grab rooms. Open lobby floors are not. Wait just outside the Safe Zone portal, off the obvious sightline, and take the Human who sprints out looking at their hotbar. iFrames last only a few seconds after they leave spawn; the window after those frames drop is the real hunt. Grabbing during iFrames wastes the tool and shows your position.
Do not tunnel the first blue name you see if two teammates are peeling. Isolate. A Human who split from the group to loot a side room is worth more than a hero grab into three bats. Pack tactics beat solo highlight grabs: one Transfur occupies the front, another takes the back. The Human controls page is worth reading from this side too — you need to know that their sprint is Ctrl and their swing is right-click, so you can time the rear approach on the yellow bar.
Puddles are the finish, not the start
Latex sits in corners, cave water, and service rooms. Drag the grabbed Human in. If you miss the grab, you can still body-block them toward a pool so a second Transfur finishes. Community reports (not official docs) treat red puddles as heavy damage-over-time on Humans and blue puddles as a slow; either effect makes the next grab easier. Other colors — gray, white, yellow, green, pink, black — mainly pick the form the victim becomes. Form hunting is optional. Server flipping is not. Convert first, pose later.
Do not stand in a puddle yourself expecting armor. Puddles are a Human problem. Your problem is the Safe Zone line.
Never enter the Safe Zone
This is the rule that ends more Transfur streaks than any bat. The spawn tile is scripted to kill Infectants. Chasing a Human through a portal is a self-kill, not a clutch. Stop at the threshold. Wait. Humans must leave to loot, peel, and contest rooms. Perimeter camping — standing just outside, taking the greedy exit — is the correct pressure. Walking in because “they almost died” is how you donate a body and a cooldown.
If a Human re-enters spawn, let them. You have the rest of the facility: cafeteria, cave (v1.48), ore halls, and any desert event wing that is up. Those spaces are mapped on the facility map. Event keys and the hammer arena do not change the grab combo; they only change where Humans cluster. If a limited door opens, grab the stragglers on the walk, not the packed boss room.
Snowball the server
One conversion is a scout. Three is a pack. Five is a flip. After you convert someone, take the next isolated Human before the blue side regroups. New Transfurs spawn with Grab on 2; tell them that if they start punching. Numbers beat shop weapons. A Crucible Human still has a yellow bar.
Furcoins come from infections. There are no confirmed active promo codes as of September 2026, so a code will not skip the grab. Convert now; spend coins later.
Learn one sentence: press 2, take the back, right-click, drag to latex, and never cross the Safe Zone line. Weapon locations tell you what you are grabbing into; the Easter boss fight tells you when Humans clump. The pack that remembers the line flips a 35-player server. The pack that forgets it dies on the portal lip.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Humans, Transfurs, and anyone hunting Furcoins.
What is the exact grab combo?
Press 2 to ready Grab, stand behind a Human, then right-click. Drag them to a latex puddle. Front grabs miss more often than rear grabs.
Why do I die when I chase someone into spawn?
The Safe Zone is lethal to Transfurs. It is not a nest and not a shortcut. Stop at the portal and wait for Humans to exit.
Can I infect someone without a puddle?
The grab is the start; latex is the finish that actually converts. A stalled hallway grab gets peeled. Always drag toward a puddle if one is in reach.
Should I hunt alone or as a pack?
Pack. One Transfur occupies the front, another takes the back. Solo hero grabs into three bats are how snowballs stall. Roles are on the Transfur roster.
Do I still use melee weapons as a Transfur?
No. Grab on 2 is the tool. Shop blades and scavenged bats are Human items. If you converted with a carrot scythe from an event, that is an infected-side exception, not the default loop.
When do a Human's iFrames drop?
A few seconds after they leave the Safe Zone. Grabbing during that window wastes the tool. Wait, then take the back.
